Filming, "Dude You're Screwed" took several months, and everyone involved -- the lads, the production team at High Noon, and the locals from every country we visited -  all were great to work with and fun to be around.

The whole time that we were working, we would occasionally look at each other and laugh -- "Damn, we're in Costa Rica!" or "C'mon, man, when are we gonna ever get a chance to go to Finland?..." Good fun, and now good friends. I only hope the audience has as much fun watching it as we did making it.

In case you forgot, we are still at War, and sending men into combat. I realize the guys I like to be around the most are my SF Brothers, and as I work with them, I can only hope and pray that they all come back to what they leave behind. I was a team leader, but really the show is about the guys who keep our asses safe every day. It was a real honor to meet and work with them. I hope the audience will find a new appreciation for what they do. Oh yeah, and I'm not gonna tell you who the last man left was -- you gotta watch and find out..."

Just got back from Prague filming a TV series called, "CQB". Had a great time working with URNA - the Czech Republic's  National Police Force. I also was privileged to meet Miroslav Pastercik -- Director of the ATAC Anti Terror Academy, and train at his first-rate facility. CQB takes the viewer into the fast-paced and dangerous world of Close Quarter Battle -- gunfighting in enclosed spaces like cities and buildings. URNA has some world class shooters and operators, and we really got along well. I speak a little Czech from my time in Europe and 10th Special Forces Group, and I think the Czech people appreciated my attempts to use their language, even if I sounded like a 5 year old boy!Working with Special Operations Forces from around the world always reinforces what I've known for a long time -- it doesn't matter where you come from or what flag you wear - we are all Brothers in Arms. Hope to get back there sooner than later, and drink some famous Czech beer with my new friends.....

It's been a long time...I left my home in late June, and just got back a few days ago. First leg of my journey was the Special 
Forces Sniper Course. One of the best military courses I've ever attended. First-rate instructors and new training techniques,as well as paradigm breaking thinking, enabled me to do better than I ever thought I could. Gotta thank my partner Dave S., as well as my instructors Jay and Corey for dealing with my lack of skill and getting the most out of me! Can't thank you enough, my Brothers.

I also just finished filming a pilot for History Channel - can't really talk too much about it, but I can say it's military oriented, and would be a lot of fun to do if it goes to series. Keep my fingers crossed on that one...
Left NY and it was full-on Summer. Came back and it's Fall. Time waits for nobody. Gotta enjoy myself for awhile...Hope everybody is well and happy...Schapp out here 
]]><![CDATA[Zombies!]]>Mon, 01 Aug 2011 18:40:39 GMThttps://www.terryschappert.com/blog/zombiesRecently finished filming the movie "Remains," a post-apocolyptic zombie thriller, in Mystic, Connecticut. It's a film adaption of the Steve Niles (30 Days Of Night) horror comic book of the same name.  It was tons of fun to do, and I can't wait to see it finished! 
Right now, down in Ft Bragg training  - record heat trying to destroy us, but we'll make it. Back soon enough, hope everyone is having a great Summer...

So tomorrow is "Troopathon", an 8 hour web-a-thon supporting soldiers  fighting overseas with care packages. I will be doing a Skype interview around 4pm with S.E. Cupp to give a perspective on what this means to us in the military. Trust me, nothing is better than getting an actual letter or package when you are in a combat zone. I spoke with Dennis Miller today, and I will be on Hannity and Red Eye tonight -- all of them support this charity. 
There's something else this charity raises money for you should know about - The Gold Star Moms Programs. The charity brings U.S. military mothers who have lost sons and daughters in the War On Terror back to the area in Iraq or Afghanistan where their child was killed to reconnect with their sacrifice and hopefully bring some healing to their loss.
Sometimes I get discouraged when I watch the news and hear the idiotic stuff some of our citizens say and believe. It makes me want to not fight for them. But then I remember the letters, the packages, the banners and posters from American adults and children I've never even met, and I smile. THAT is worth fighting for.

All of us in the military wish we could have done it -- but the boys in SEAL Team 6 are a Tier 1 force, and that's what they do. Good on 'em! This is what happens when you let us loose on our enemies...
No time to rest, however. While bin Laden was important, he's only one of many. This isn't ending soon, and the people praising ( rightfully) President Obama while trashing President Bush when he was trying to fight the war better get their sh#t together. We're onto you -- always have been. A combination of laziness and computer phobia has been conquered! Just did an appearance on Red Eye with Greg Gutfeld, and have to say he is one of the smartest and coolest guys I know. Isn't it hard to stomach the media's jubilation at the "youth movement" in Egypt when we know the Islamists are waiting like jackals around the fire to attack? Also, it smacks of hypocrisy that this government overthrow is celebrated as a great example of the people's will, yet in our own backyard people peacefully protesting the direction we are taking, a.k.a The Tea Party - are labeled racists and violent.
